Choose a challenge

Classic modes use the row + column + color rules. Advanced modes drop the row/column rule — pieces are kept apart only by their attacks.

How to play

Goal. Reveal every hidden piece using logic. There is exactly one solution and you never have to guess.

Three rules. Exactly one piece per row, per column, and per colored region.

Advanced levels. Levels marked "Advanced" drop the row/column rule — only the region rule and the pieces' attacks constrain the board.

Reveal. Tap a foggy square and pick the piece. A wrong pick costs a heart — you get three.

Pieces attack. When revealed, a piece marks every square it attacks with a red ✕, swept by a green flash as the attack lands — those can't hide anything. Kings hit neighbors, Rooks hit rank & file, Bishops hit diagonals, Queens hit all three, Knights hit the L.

Tally. The chips above the board list exactly which pieces are hidden and how many of each remain. No pieces are given — the regions and the tally are all you need.

Tap once to mark your own amber ✕ ("no piece here") — or drag to sweep ✕s across squares. Hold a square on a multi-piece board to open the marking sheet: tap a piece to cycle "might be here ?" → "can't be ✕" → clear, or drop a ⚑ flag. On single-piece boards, holding toggles the ⚑ flag. Double-tap to reveal — a wrong reveal costs a heart.

Givens. A square marked with a small amber ring is a given: a piece definitely lives there — you just don't know which one yet.

Two kinds of ✕. Red ✕s are the game's automatic eliminations — squares nothing can occupy. Your own marks: an amber ✕ means "definitely empty" (tap, or drag to sweep), a blue ⚑ flag means "unsure — watch this square" (hold).

Clues. You get three per puzzle. Each explains the next logical step — solve with zero for a flawless badge.
